In literally SEVEN DAYS - (ooh that's ominous..."Mom, don't pick up the phone!!"...just kidding I don't live with my mom) - I will be flying to Mwanza, Tanzania to set up and run a free medical clinic with Lighthouse Medical Missions!!! Over the past 5 days I've gone over to the office and helped label and bag 17,000 children's vitamins (not counting the ones I wasn't there to bag) and helped pack 200 lbs of: cough drops, infant vitamins, adult vitamins, iodine, hydrogen peroxide, hand sanitizer, |
prescriptions, towels, surgical masks, hypodermic needles, obstetrical kits, gauze, bandages - the list goes on and on and there is SO MUCH MORE TO PACK!!! -This just might be the scariest, most exciting, nerve-wracking, eye opening, heart crushing, spirit lifting, jaw dropping, totally unexpected thing I have ever done in my life...and I can hardly wait. - Part of the reason to write this post is that I want you to have the opportunity to be a part of this adventure and by clicking HERE you can donate to send more of the necessary supplies and little ol' me!! I'm not a doctor, I'm not a nurse, I am an actor constantly thrilled to make people laugh and I plan to bring those skills and determination to people who could really use some laughter right now. Some say it is the best medicine...will you join me? In the meantime here is a video of Tanzania and its amazing people by a band singing one of my main jams!! Go ahead, listen! Dance! Donate! (but when you do, expect a Thank You letter in the mail from me that just might make you cry...and hopefully laugh) | |
